Accessing and Replacing the Speed Selector

Tools Needed: Phillips screwdriver


Follow along as we show the steps to access and replace the speed selector in a Vortex Flex™ battery powered mist blower attachment.

Step-By-Step Instructions:


STEP 1: Open the Main Housing on the Unit


  1. To open the main housing, begin by removing the front duct assembly.
  2. Remove the 15 screws holding the main housing together. Unscrew the nut around the exterior hose connection.
  3. Separate the right & left cover plates to expose the inside of the unit.


Note: There are 2 screws under the bottom plate and 4 located on the battery holster





STEP 2: Remove the Speed Selector from the Unit



  1. Lift the trigger assembly and motor from the main housing.
  2. Remove the speed selector from the main housing and disconnect it.




STEP 3: Insert and Attach the Replacement Speed Selector



  1. Place the replacement speed selector into the designated slot on the main housing and connect it to the circuit board.
  2. Tuck the wiring into the slots along the handle of the main housing.
  3. Situate the motor and trigger assembly into their designated slots


Note: Make sure that you install the new speed selector with the rod facing the handle

STEP 4: Secure the Main Housing Back onto the Unit



  1. Align the two cover plates
  2. Secure the 15 screws into the two cover plates 
  3. Slide the bottom plate back onto the unit, and secure the lock nut onto the hose connection.
  4. Secure the QuickSwap™ Terminal to the cover plates.
  5. Reattach the front duct assembly.
